The woman behind it

Korra Vastrra began in Arti Kapur's home. Friends kept asking where her clothes came from, and the honest answer was that she made them. The first collection opened on 4 October 2025 with a rail of shirts, kaftans and dresses in unbleached cotton. Exhibition 2.0 followed on 21 to 23 August 2026. The idea has not changed: Indian silhouettes, timeless shades, nothing hurried.

What the name means

Kora is cotton left as it came off the loom, unbleached and undyed. Vastrra is cloth. The three words on the label, Kora, Saadgi, Soul, are the brief: raw cloth, plain simplicity, and the part that stays after the trend has gone.

How a piece is made

Handloom cotton and linen are bought unbleached, so the colour is the colour of the fibre. Every sprig, cherry and flower is embroidered by hand, one placket at a time. Buttons are coconut shell or wood. Prahlad Bhai, who has cut cloth for thirty years, makes each pattern and sews it in the studio. Boxy shirts, balloon and kimono sleeves, kurtas cut straight, kaftans cut wide: many pieces are one size and fit XS to XL because the shape does the work.

How to buy

Choose a piece on the rail, add it to the bag and send the order on WhatsApp, or write to @korra.vastrra. Pieces are made to order and delivered within India in two to three weeks. The studio opens for exhibitions a few times a year; ask for the date and the address.

Style is a reflection of who you are. How comfortable, how confident, and most importantly, feeling like yourself.Arti Kapur
